Distributed and Multi-Agent Planning

An ICAPS 2018 Workshop
Delft, The Netherlands
June 25 or June 26, 2018

The 5th Workshop on Distributed and Multi-Agent Planning (DMAP) will be held at the ICAPS 2018 conference in the tradition of the "Multiagent Planning and Scheduling" workshop series that were held at ICAPS 2005 and 2008, and DMAP'13, DMAP'14, DMAP'15, and DMAP'16. Multi-agent planning (MAP) is a broad field with many applications, but its subfields still remain quite dispersed and uncoordinated. There has been a steady interest in MA planning in recent years. Specifically, progress has been made in formalizing general models, algorithmic techniques, and solution concepts for the MA planning problem. Recently, privacy has become one of the central topics in the community. The goal of this workshop is to bring researchers working in these subfields together and to bridge the gap between diverse related communities.

The organizing committee of DMAP'18 invites paper submissions on topics related to distributed and multi-agent planning. Relevant topics to the workshop are, among others:

  • Multiagent planning and scheduling applications
  • Techniques to overcome multiagent planning complexity
  • Plan coordination/merging
  • Distributed planning and scheduling
  • Multiagent planning system architectures
  • Multiagent planning by/for multi-robot systems
  • Self-interested planning agents
  • Game theoretic planning
  • Multiagent planning under uncertainty and/or partial observability
  • Distributed multiagent planning
  • Privacy in distributed multiagent planning
  • Benchmarks for distributed multiagent planning
  • Factored multiagent planning
  • Decentralized multiagent planning
  • Multiagent planning problem modeling techniques and languages
  • Domain-dependent and domain-independent multiagent planning
  • Heuristics for multiagent planning
  • Proposals for multi-agent planning IPC track

DMAP'18 is a workshop, organized in technical sessions. Each presentation will be followed by ample time for questions and general discussion.

Paper submission is in PDF only, formatted in AAAI style ( Refer to the author instructions on the AAAI web site for detailed formatting instructions and LaTeX style files. Final papers will be in the same format, keep them to at most 8+1 pages long (meaning 8 pages plus 1 extra page containing only references). We also welcome the submission of short position papers (at most 4+1 pages long). All deadlines refer to 23:59 in the UTC-12 time zone. Paper submissions should be made through the workshop EasyChair web site:
